What information does Doctivity ask for and how is it used?

PURCHASE - During the purchase process, we ask you to provide us with contact information such as name, billing address, email address and telephone number, as well as a credit card number. Your email address will be used to deliver digital goods to you, provide periodic news and updates, as well as deliver other opt-in communication opportunities. From time to time, we may also give you the option to receive promotional emails or to join email lists that our authorized seller partners make available at our web site. Doctivity does not store your credit card number in its database.

COOKIES - Doctivity uses software tags called "cookies" to identify customers when they visit our site. Cookies help us understand the purchase preferences of our visitors and enable us to customize our service to their needs.

These logs contain your Internet domain name, your IP address, the type of browser and operating system you use, the date and time you visited, the pages that you visited, and the address of the web site you linked here from. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our server and the administration of our web site, as well as for other managerial purposes. We do not normally identify individuals from the web logs, however, they may be used if necessary to help identify any person attempting to break into or damage our web site. Does Doctivity share my personal information with other companies?

Doctivity does not sell, rent or share your name, email address, or any personal information without your prior consent. We do not sell, loan, or give personal information that identifies you to other web sites, list brokers, mail-order businesses, or telemarketers so that they can offer you their products and services, unless you specifically ask us to. If you have opted in to receive periodic news and updates from Doctivity, from time to time, we may include information about products or services of companies that we believe may be of interest to you.

In some cases, purchase, advertising, visitor and user information will be aggregated for reporting. However, these reports are broad in scope and contain no information that could be used to personally identify you, such as your name, credit card number, or transaction history. Doctivity is always the sole owner of the information collected at this site and will not share this information with others except in aggregate form.

What does Doctivity do to ensure the security of my personal information?

Your credit card and personal information is safe at Doctivity. Our server and your browser encrypt all confidential information during transmission, ensuring that all transactions remain private and protected. Purchases are transacted on our secure server with 128-bit Secure Socket Layout (SSL) technology from VeriSign. VeriSign only provides this SSL technology and does not store or process any of your personal information.

With this technology, your credit card information is protected. However, if any unauthorized use of your credit card occurs as a result of its use at Doctivity, simply notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your provider cannot hold you liable for more than fifty U.S. dollars ($50.00) worth of fraudulent charges. If, through no fault of your own, your credit card company finds fraud but does not waive your entire liability for unauthorized charges, Doctivity will reimburse you for the remaining liability, up to the maximum of $50.00 per card.
